Truly Seasonal Farewell Flowers

A little look at some eco floristry mechanics in the garden studio
8

This is not my comfort zone (being in front of the camera) but I feel it is important to talk about farewell flowers and the seasonal options available when having an eco friendly product that is important to you. I always feel honoured to be asked to provide flowers for a loved one on their final journey. Over the past few years of providing a sustainable solution I have developed ways in which I can work without using floral foam. I have learnt by watching other amazing florists out there doing similar work, in an effort to rid the world of foam.

This small arrangement is to sit at the front of the village church on a pedestal. The family wanted seasonal flowers with a natural feel. Incorporating blossom, catkins and what I call “twiggy bits” which help to achieve the brief.

I hope you enjoy the process and excuse my video editing! I have cut and sped up sections so it is only an “enjoy a cuppa” length.

If you would like join me in the studio and get creative with some seasonal flowers and foliage all grown here, why not come on one of my Cutting Garden Courses. I also do 1:1 teaching and can tailor the content to your needs. Click here for more info .
